DAHÉLI [da.hay.lee] I’m Los Angeles based award-winning performer, writer, and director. You may know me from MAD TV, or Netflix's DEAR WHITE PEOPLE or GRACE & FRANKIE. Currently, I am an IFP-Blackhouse Multicultural Producers Lab fellow. I also wrote and directed Disney Channel’s hit digital film, EXCHANGE. My original pilot, ANGRY BLACK WOMEN, (yes, it’s a comedy) won Just For Laughs “From Set to Screen” competition and was also a selection at Series Fest, The New York Television Festival, and IFP Film Week. My short films, THE MEMO, and MANDINGO IN A BOX, both won HBO Short Film awards and were licensed to air on the network. Entertaining with jokes is my passion and my writing can be seen on Funny or Die, VH1, CBS, and FOX. I earned a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA from the Stark Producing Program at USC School of Cinematic Arts. I also host a monthly show at Upright Citizens Brigade called CP Time, regularly perform stand-up at local venues, deliver snappy lines with my improv teams, Ruggedly Handsome & Hot Croissant, and delight children of all ages with The Story Pirates, an arts education company.
